The lady of shalott

This essay im going to talk about how the values patience and caring are reflected in the story of The lady of shalott by Alfred Lord Tennyson .Before i start talking about how that two values are reflected i want to define both of it(patience and caring)  so yo can get into context .patience is the quality of being patient, as the bearing of provocation, annoyance , misfortune , or pain , without complaint, loss of temper , irritation , or the like. caring is a state of mind in which one is troubled; worry , anxiety or concern.

The lady of shalott is a poem (that is divided into four parts), the poem is about a women that lives in the island of shalott and the people calls her the lady of shalott but no one in the surrounding countryside has seen her , they know her only by her beautiful singing ,which carries over the river from her home at the top of a tower, the lady spends all her days singing and weaving , also looking city camelot through  her mirror , one day the image of a man appears on the mirror his name was Sir lancelot he was a knight and she´s drawn to him by his beautiful singing, then the lady sets out on a boat toward camelot becuase she wants to know him but becuase of the bad climate she freezes to dead in the route through camelot. 

In my opinion i think that the value of patience isn´t in the poem becuase the lady of shalott when she sees sir lancelot the only thing she want to do was go look for him becuase she get in love at first sight with the knight and becuase of that impatience she has to know him she died, becuase she more than anyone knows the risk of go out her island to camelot but she also do it for him. i also think that the value of caring is reflected in the story because when the lady of shalott dies her boat continue in movement in the water until it ends up in camelot and when that happens the people that where near go look for her also sir lancelot and that is a good action. this story also it leaves us an apprenticeship which is that we have to be patience  because if we do this we prevent to happen bad things , also that if the things didn´t happen as the way we want if because there is not the moment , time or place to have it and we have to learn to identificated  those signs that life gives us . also another aprrenticeship is that we have to care about others no matter if we know them or not in  the story it was to late to help the lady of shalott because she was already death but the intention that the people of camelot and sir lancelot had was what it really count.
