In this essay im going to write about the story named christmas storms and sunshine that is writed by Elizabeth Cleghorn Gaskell (née Stevenson; 29 September 1810 – 12 November 1865), often referred to as Mrs Gaskell, was an English novelist, biographer, and short story writer. Her novels offer a detailed portrait of the lives of many strata of Victorian society, including the very poor, and are of interest to social historians as well as lovers of literature.the story chritsmas storms and sunshine is written in third person omnipresent(method of storytelling in which the narrator knows the feellings and thoughts of all the characters in the story), What elizabeth gaskell wants to transmit to all the readers or the purpose of this story is that people have to appreciate life and the little things because you dont know how short life it is and also be grateful of what you have and dont treat bad to the person that has less than you and the most important that also is a cliche is that christmas fix everything by christmas magic.she was about two families that are rivals because both have a newspin this essay im going to talk about christmas storms and sunshine , the story is aper .the Examiner was spirited and intelligent alias new fangled and democratic. Every week these newspapers contained articles abusing each other; as cross and peppery as articles could be, and evidently the production of irritated minds, although they seemed to have one stereotyped commencement. Mr Jenkins have his wife and also mr hodgson . but the Jenkins are happy because they had a cat called pussy and the hodgson , Mary hodgson have a beautiful little baby. Both families live in the same building , in Britain . the plot start when the cat start make disaster for example steal milk and food , specially the things of the hogdson , one day make a disaster in the holdhouse of the hogdson apartament , and eat the special food of the hogdson that was for Christmas dinner . mary hogdson get angry about this situation and beat the cat pussy and start fight with mrs Jenkins about this situation and generate problems , later mary get nervous and feel sad , because her baby start cry , and he notice that the cry was different , this different cry was because the baby get an ill , that is a sickness . mrs Jenkins know about this situation and She put herself in Mary's shoes, reconsidered and started working and thinking how to help Mary with the care of the baby and everything that she needs . he two families began to think that we all went through difficult situations and sometimes even worse than those, and that is when they settle their differences and reconcile to have a Christmas dinner together on Christmas night Christmas day comes, happy sharing their food, get more friends and closer. As a conclusion as my opinion this story as long and detailed as it is, makes a very important emphasis in forgiveness and respect, this two families show respected to one another and instead of making plans to end with their business and end with their happiness they just lived day by day, letting that those little problems passed by and not affected the way of going to work, of eating their food or treat other human being. The story also let a message in how we see ourself and if we are completely happy with the life we live and the things we do to keep going, for example in the story we have the Mrs. Jenkins and she is not really happy and comfortable with the life she live and he things she did and do, this is something that in an implicit way the author wants to transmit to everyone and is to accept who you are and do what your want no matter what, without thinking if you are going to be criticized or hated.
